Babel signs for Hoffenheim

Liverpool forward Ryan Babel has completed his move to Hoffenheim on a two-and-a-half-year contract.

The Reds accepted a fee for the Holland international, believed to be in the region of £6m, last week but the deal appeared to be off up until late on Monday when the player flew out to finalise contract details with the German club.
A statement on the official Liverpool website confirmed: "The Dutch winger has penned a two and a half year deal with the Bundesliga outfit with the option of a further year.
"Everybody at Liverpool Football Club would like to wish Ryan the best of luck at his new club."

Another Year
"The 24-year-old striker signed on Tuesday a contract for two and a half years until June 30 2013 (plus an option for another year)," said a statement on Hoffenheim's website.
Babel has made nine Barclays Premier League appearances this season, eight of them as a substitute, scoring once.
Babel has found it hard to establish himself as a regular at Anfield since joining from Ajax in July 2007. In total he made 91 Premier League appearances which brought him 12 goals.
