Chelsea doubled their lead on 41 minutes through Florent Malouda's angled finish at the second attempt and Nicolas Anelka (56) ended the match as a contest with his 13th goal of the season after the ball broke to him in the box.
Ramires (74) wrapped up the scoring with his first Chelsea goal, turning his effort home after fine work by Michael Essien down the left wing.
The victory leaves Chelsea four points behind third-placed Manchester City with Bolton down a place to 10th.
