Huddlestone on comeback trail

Tottenham Hotspur's Tom Huddlestone is ready to make his comeback from ankle surgery next month.

The 24-year-old England international midfielder went under the knife in November and was ruled out for three months.
He is targeting a return to training before Spurs' Champions League last-16 first leg against AC Milan on 15th February and hopes to force his way back into the side soon after.

Huddlestone was a virtual ever-present in the Tottenham team this season before being forced to have an operation on his deteriorating right ankle.

Be Honest
"Straight after the operation, it was suggested three months which would take me to the day before the first AC Milan game," he said.
"So hopefully the game or two after that, I should have had a week or 10 days of full training and be in contention to be on the bench."
Spurs have coped well in Huddlestone's absence but they have also fallen 13 points behind Barclays Premier League leaders Manchester United.
The midfielder believes the title is now United's to lose, saying: "It's swayed a few ways recently but Man United are top by a few points.
"So, unless they slip up, you can't really see it going anywhere other than Old Trafford this season, to be honest."
Huddlestone will face extra competition for his place in the side when he returns, with Tottenham having signed Steven Pienaar this month.
