New deal for Salgado

Blackburn Rovers full-back Michel Salgado has agreed a contract extension until the end of next season.

The former Real Madrid and Spain defender, 35, is a firm favourite at Ewood Park since arriving in August 2009 and joins Ryan Nelsen in agreeing a new deal.

Great News
Rovers manager Steve Kean told his club's website: "To keep Michel here is great news, his experience is invaluable and his enthusiasm infectious.
"He's a winner and you can never have too many of those."
Salgado joined the club in the summer of 2009 signing a two-year deal after his release from the Spanish giants. The full back has made 44 Barclays Premier League appearances for Rovers and has yet to score for them in the league.
He has played 23 times in the Barclays Premier League this season. Salgado's decision comes hot on the heels of Ryan Nelsen's agreement last weekend.
