Ancelotti confident about future

Carlo Ancelotti was confident he would continue at Chelsea beyond the summer after the 2-0 win over Manchester City.

The Italian's contract does not expire until the summer of 2012 but recent comments by chief executive Ron Gourlay suggested that Ancelotti was by no means certain of still being at Stamford Bridge next season
"Let's see where we are at the end of May, then we'll judge the coach and other people at the football club," Gourlay had said.
But Ancelotti was in relaxed mood after watching his side earn a deserved win over City.
Headed Goal
He said: "I'm happy in this moment, so I think we will continue."
But he added, before producing a 'cut-off' gesture: "If one party - the club or myself - is not happy to continue, I think we'll have to...
"I know very well that this team slept for two months and, in that moment, I had fantastic support from the team.
"A lot of coaches that sleep for two months, at this moment, are at home watching the game on television. I am here - fortunately."
Chelsea dominated much of the encounter at Stamford Bridge, and triumphed after a headed goal from the impressive David Luiz and a late effort from Ramires.
The Blues are nine points behind leaders Manchester United with a match in hand, and Ancelotti said: "We have nine games to play and we have to do our best.
"We have to try to win every game. Manchester United won on Saturday so the gap's the same.

"Now there'll be an international break. When the players come back, I'd like to see the same spirit and attitude."

One Effort
City registered just one effort on target in the entire match but manager Roberto Mancini was not too downbeat about a result that sees Chelsea leapfrog his team into third place.
"This was an important game. If we had won or got a draw it would have been fantastic, but nothing has changed really. We've got eight (League) games to the end," he said.
"We played three days ago against Kyiv with ten men, and in the last 20 or 25 minutes we were tired. Maybe we can train better because we don't have the Europa League."
