Nancy coach Pablo Correa has announced he will step down at the end of the season.
The Uruguayan's current contract was set to run until 2012, but he feels he has done all he can for the club after nine years in charge.
Nancy have struggled for consistency this season and lie 14th in Ligue 1, six points above the drop zone.
"I think the club needs something else and I cannot give this because it is difficult to motivate all the time," he said on the club's website.
"As I don't want to see Nancy in trouble, I prefer to leave. As of 30 June I will look for a new club. The time has come to move on. When you sign a long-term contract, you know you sit on something you take for granted.
"It would have been easy for me to stay, but I've never liked the easy option, I've always looked for levers to push the group further.
"Now I'm starting to see gaps at times. And I'm not in a position where I want to sit here in this seat and say things will work anyway, even though I don't have all the levers to push the squad along."
Correa had been hoping to keep his decision under wraps for the time being, but recent speculation prompted today's announcement.
"It's a decision I made a while ago and confirmed to [club president] Jacques Rousselot at the start of March," he said. "We tried to keep it quiet as long as possible so as not disrupt the squad. But the rumours are out and the president thought it best to speak now."
