Wolfsburg's Brazilian playmaker Diego has welcomed the arrival of Felix Magath as his side's new coach and is now optimistic about his and the club's future.
Magath became the club's third coach of the season when he replaced Pierre Littbarski last week and Diego is convinced that the club got it right in re-appointing the man who led them to the Bundesliga title in 2009. "I am certain that he can help us," Diego told Welt newspaper's online edition.
"Magath has an impressive track record and he is a very well-respected coach. For me personally, the change in coach is good. To be successful, you have got to take risks. We were not being successful so something was changed. Now we have got to work together to ensure we get away from the relegation zone."

Diego
Diego has so far looked a shadow of the player which helped Werder Bremen win the DFB-Pokal in 2009, as well as to a regular berth in the UEFA Champions League. However, under Magath, he expects to return to his best and he has predicted a bright future.
"I can still do a lot more for the team," he added. "I have yet to find my best form. The team has also not found it - we don't have any rhythm. But if I can rediscover the form I had back in my Werder Bremen days, then we can develop something here.
"If we stay in the Bundesliga, then we can set completely different goals for next season. Until then, every win is important. Being in a relegation battle is something new to me. I want to use it to improve myself."
