This weekend's Primera Division fixtures will go ahead after a Madrid court this morning ruled in favour of six clubs seeking to call off a proposed strike.
Athletic Bilbao, Real Sociedad, Real Zaragoza, Espanyol, Sevilla and Villarreal had launched an appeal after the Liga Nacional de Futbol Profesional (LFP) suspended the fixtures amid a row over television rights.
The majority of teams in the league supported the strike in order to put pressure on the Spanish government to overturn a law that requires one match per round of fixtures to be shown on free-to-air television.
The clubs want to be able to maximise the revenue they can generate from deals with pay TV channels.
