Manchester City beat 10-man Manchester United 1-0 at Wembley to reach the FA Cup final.
Yaya Toure scored the only goal of a pulsating semi-final as City edged to a memorable victory over their neighbours who had Paul Scholes sent off as their Treble dream died.
United had two good chances to take the lead in the first half through Dimitar Berbatov who saw his first effort blocked by goalkeeper Joe Hart. The Bulgarian then hit a close-range shot over the bar following a cross from Nani.
City hit back and Mario Balotelli launched a piledriver from 30 yards in the 34th minute and Edwin van der Sar did well to push it over the bar.
Then Joleon Lescott got on the end of Adam Johnson's corner but put too much height on his shot.
City took the lead after 52 minutes through Yaya Toure who intercepted a pass from Michael Carrick just outside the penalty area.
He burst forward, beat Nemanja Vidic and drilled a low shot on the run through the legs of Van der Sar.
The goal gave City a massive lift and they began to control the match but they survived a scare on 65 minutes when Hart pushed Nani's 25-yard deflected free-kick onto the bar.
United's task grew even harder on 72 minutes when Paul Scholes was sent off for a reckless high challenge on Pablo Zabaleta.
City battled hard to keep the Reds at bay through five minutes of added time to secure a place in the FA Cup final for the first time in 30 years.
