Lille coach Rudi Garcia urged his team not to get carried away after moving provisionally seven points clear at the Ligue 1 summit with a 3-1 win over Caen at Stade Metropole last night.
Yohan Cabaye missed a first-half penalty for the hosts but strikes from Aurelien Chedjou, Eden Hazard and Moussa Sow secured the points to mark a week that saw Garcia handed a new contract in fine style.
The triumph moved Lille clear of second-placed Marseille, who visit Lens tonight, but Garcia does not want his side to think the job is done just yet.
"It's good to follow up with a fourth consecutive victory," he said. "Now we must continue our journey to Monaco - a team struggling for survival.
"The surprises of the evening were that Rennes and Paris Saint-Germain were held [to goalless home draws by Auxerre and Lorient, respectively].
"However, we must remain true to our principles and take care of ourselves first. But, of course, we will still look out for the results of Marseille and Lyon on Sunday."
Defender Chedjou believes not getting weighed down by lofty expectations will be vital in the run-in. "It would be putting more pressure on us to talk about [the title]," the 25-year-old said in L'Equipe.
"That's how we should approach the games we have still to play. Our secret is that we live without pressure. When the match begins, we want to have fun. That's what makes us tick. We do not care at all for the other things."
