Paris St Germain boss Antoine Kombouare claimed his side were making progress after watching them ease past Angers and into the final of the Coupe de France.
PSG were too strong for their Ligue 2 opponents, winning 3-1 to set up a final date with Lille.
Kombouare's men are fourth in the top flight and still in contention for a UEFA Champions League berth but Wednesday night's victory means they are all-but guaranteed a place in next season's Europa League should they fall short of their main aim.

Kombouare said: "There is real progress here, we showed character and won the match with style. That PSG have reached the final at the Stade de France in successive years is great.
"We have also all-but qualified for the Europa League tonight but it is better to go for the Champions League. The squad is in the mood to fight for that aim and achieve a season of real progress for the club."
Guillaume Hoarau grabbed the crucial third goal for PSG and the France international has already set his sights on helping the club become the first team to retain the trophy since Nantes won back-to-back finals in 1999 and 2000.
"Getting to the Stade de France was the target and it will be a beautiful game in the final," he said. "We are satisfied because we are on target to retain the trophy. There are still lots of things to play for, it will mean an exciting end to the season."
