The race for the Barclays Premier League title has once again proved an intriguing tussle.
Although Manchester United have begun to pull clear in recent weeks, they have faced stern competition throughout an exciting campaign.
Arsene Wenger's Arsenal have stayed on their coat-tails while champions Chelsea have shown they are not prepared to give up their crown without a fight. Manchester City have emerged as a greater force while Tottenham Hotspur have kept pace, despite the strain of an impressive Champions League campaign.
Now the race for a top-four finish is boiling up to a thrilling finale as five clubs battle it out for just four places.
Sir Alex Ferguson's United side look certain to claim one of the berths - either by winning the title or the Champions League or both.
Carlo Ancelotti's Chelsea are well placed after recovering strongly from their mid-season wobble while Arsenal have been clear of the cut-off point throughout the campaign.
However both managers know they cannot afford any slip-ups with Man City and Spurs homing in.
Currently the battle for the final Champions League place looks to be between the sides managed by Roberto Mancini and Harry Redknapp - just as it was in the 2009/10 season.
Then, Tottenham edged it with a 1-0 win at Eastlands in the penultimate fixture and the sides meet there again on 10th May in a match which is likely to go a long way towards deciding which of them will finish in the top four.
