Cesc Fabregas wanted by AC Milan as well as FC Barcelona?

AC Milan have reportedly joined Barcelona in the race to sign Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas this summer

The 24-year-old has also been linked with Manchester City and Real Madrid in recent weeks as clubs prepare to try and lure the Spain international away from north London after another trophyless season.

Barcelona, who have been trying to bring the midfielder back to Camp Nou for the last two years, are seen as favourites to sign the Spaniard should he leave Arsenal this summer.

But according to talkSPORT citing reports in Italy, Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has told his technical staff that Fabregas is his top transfer target this summer.

Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola has also made it his top priority to sign the midfielder before the start of next season, with recent reports in Spain suggesting he has already met with Fabregas' family

Milan were crowned Serie A champions earlier this month but are keen to strengthen their squad over the summer as they look to improve in the Champions League next year after being knocked out this season by Tottenham.

Reports over whether or not Arsenal will sell their skipper have been conflicting in recent months.

Manager Arsene Wenger wants the player to remain at the club next season as they look to end a run of six years without silverware. But there is a growing feeling that the Frenchman will reluctantly let his prize asset leave the club should he force the issue, and should their valuation - believed to be in excess of £35million - be met.
