A hat-trick from Moussa Sow gave Ligue 1 champions Lille the perfect send off as they came from behind to beat Rennes 3-2.
Lille had only lost once at home all season, but fell behind after a Aurelien Chedjou own goal. However, the league's top goalscorer Sow hit back with a hat-trick. Victor Montano scored a late consolation for the visitors who finish the season in sixth place, good enough to qualify for next season's UEFA Europa League.
Gervinho had an early opportunity to give the hosts the lead, but he fired high and wide when well placed in the area before Yohan Cabaye came close with a well-taken free-kick after 16 minutes.
The away side then started to dictate the tempo of the game and created a number of opportunities as Yann M'Vila and Yacine Brahimi both brought good saves out of Lille goalkeeper Mickael Landreau, before Cameroonian midfielder Chedjou scored an own goal in the 26th minute to give Rennes the lead.
Sow then took centre stage and won his side a penalty when he was brought down by Kader Mangane before converting the spot-kick himself to draw Lille level only nine minutes after they had fallen behind.
Rennes came out after the interval looking sharper than their opponents as M'Vila and Abdoulrazak Boukari both worked Landreau before Sow put Lille ahead for the first time just after the hour-mark. The Senegal striker was released by Eden Hazard and rifled a shot past Nicloas Douchez in the Rennes goal.
Pierre-Alain Frau hit the post for the hosts five minutes later, but it was Sow who scored the pivotal third goal in the 76th minute after Gervinho rounded Douchez before squaring unselfishly for Sow to score his hat-trick.
Rennes pulled a goal back with eight minutes on the clock when M'Vila played in Victor Hugo Montano to score, but the visitors missed out on a share of the spoils when Jerome Leroy's curling effort hit the post in the 88th minute.
