Barclays Asia Trophy tickets go on sale

Match day tickets for the Barclays Asia Trophy 2011 are to go on sale to the general public on Thursday 2nd June.

The four team knock-out tournament in Hong Kong will take place over two match days on Wednesday 27th and Saturday 30th July 2011, with a final to determine the winner and a play-off to decide third place. All matches will take place in the 40,000 capacity Hong Kong Stadium.
The Barclays Asia Trophy is the only Premier League-affiliated competition to be held outside England and will feature Chelsea, Aston Villa, Blackburn Rovers and Kitchee, the 2010/11 champions of the Hong Kong First Division League.
Tickets for the Barclays Asia Trophy 2011, which go on sale at 10am Hong Kong time, will be available to purchase in Hong Kong through Cityline, the official ticketing agency of the Barclays Asia Trophy, through the following sources:
• Online at www.cityline.com
• Cityline telephone booking hotline at +852 2111 5333 (10:00 am to 8:00 pm daily)
• Cityline Outlets at Parsons Music stores in Hong Kong (For Parsons Music stores' opening hours, please contact the enquiry hotline at +852 2111 5333 or visit http://www.cityline.com/chi/helpdesk/outlet.jsp
Tickets will also be available to purchase through the box office service at Hong Kong FA Head Office, and also from the match day box office service at Hong Kong Stadium.

Over two thirds of match tickets will go on sale to local supporters for each of the two-game match days. It has always been a principle of the Barclays Asia Trophy that tickets are affordable for fans locally and this year match day tickets start from $130 (approx £10). Tickets sold are per match day and each daily ticket gains the purchaser entrance to both matches on that day. It is not possible to buy a combined ticket for both days.
Tickets are available to all fans in the UK through the three participating Premier League clubs only. In the UK only one ticket category of $460 (approx £36) is being offered - this is the only area of the ground where there is reserved seating and we want to ensure club fans sit together. UK fans will be able to purchase tickets from Thursday 2nd June also and should check their club website or ticket offices for full details.
The tournament will be officiated by Barclays Premier League Match Officials and HKFA Match Officials, and will also be staged in accordance with Barclays Premier League Rules. Barclays is the title sponsor of the Asia Trophy for the third time. Commercial partners for the Barclays Asia Trophy 2011 are Nike, EA Sports and Samsung.

Premier League Chief Executive, Richard Scudamore, said: "Both the Premier League and the clubs are very much looking forward to coming to Hong Kong for the Barclays Asia Trophy 2011. It is sure to be an exciting summer for all three teams of the Barclays Premier League teams involved as they build for the new 2011/12 season and I'm sure they will come to Hong Kong with plenty to prove.
"We can only hope that there is a repeat of the atmosphere from the 2007 Barclays Asia Trophy in Hong Kong in 2007, when the fans made it feel just like a Barclays Premier League ground in England. We are pleased to offer supporters tickets at an affordable price and that they will be able to watch Barclays Premier League teams from $130 per match. I'm sure that together with our fans from England that it will be a terrific occasion in the Hong Kong Stadium."
Mr Brian Leung Hung Tak, Chairman of the HKFA, added: "The Barclays Asia Trophy will be held in Hong Kong again. The local football fans will be treated with a high quality and competitive tournament live, so I'd urge them to buy their tickets early to avoid disappointment."

Patrick Kwan, Managing Director, Investment Banking at Barclays Capital Asia Pacific said: "The Barclays Premier League is hugely popular here in Hong Kong with tens of thousands of fans watching games on TV every weekend. However, to have the Barclays Asia Trophy return to Hong Kong for the second time in four years gives fans another opportunity to see the stars of the Barclays Premier League first hand.
"For us at Barclays, it is doubly important. Hong Kong is the centre of our Asia Pacific business and we employ several thousand staff and have thousands of clients here. We are delighted that Chelsea, Aston Villa and Blackburn will be able to compete against Hong Kong's Kitchee to show to all our stakeholders why we have been proud sponsors of the Barclays Premier League for the last ten years."
