Campbell wants to stay in the top flight next term to boost his hopes of playing for England
The striker has a release clause in his contract enabling him to leave the Seasiders for £1.25m as a result of their relegation from the Barclays Premier League.
West Ham United are thought to be interested in Campbell but the striker is desperate to keep plying his trade at the highest level and improve his international ambitions.
He scored 13 goals for the Bloomfield Road club last season - making him the second-highest scoring English striker behind Darren Bent - and the former Birmingham City frontman believes he has got what it takes to be a success.
"Blackpool's been great, I love the fans, the staff and everything about the place. But I think people realise that if I want to take my career on and play for England I have to be in the Premier League.
"I had a conversation with the manager Ian Holloway and told him how I felt. He understands. He knows at my age with what I achieved during the season, he can't really stand in my way. It's not about money, I'm a human being with ambitions.
"If those could have been with Blackpool that would have been my dream but we went down.
"I think I've proved any doubters wrong. I always believed in my ability and got 13 goals, all from open play, and should have had more.
"I wasn't intimidated by anyone. Maybe when I was in the Premier League the previous time with Birmingham I was a bit star-struck for a few months but I felt comfortable this time.
"Scoring my first goal against Newcastle in my first game for the club in the Premier League took the pressure off and the victories over Liverpool were fantastic, especially the home game where the atmosphere was buzzing.
"I just told myself to be me and be my normal self and show everyone I could do it at this level - and I think I did that.
"When you come into professional football the route I did (via non league), you savour that sort of stuff because maybe you didn't think it would ever happen.
"I was sick when we lost at United and got relegated and when we had our awards night the day after it was very emotional.
"There were a lot of tears because people realised some of us were probably leaving and it could be the end of an era.
"Whatever the future holds, though, nobody connected with Blackpool will ever forget last season."
