Vincenzo Montella has been appointed the new coach of Catania on a two-year deal. The Serie A side confirmed the news today on their official website with Montella taking the reins from Diego Simeone, who left the post last week.
Montella guided Roma to a sixth-placed finish in Serie A this term but was not offered a contract extension to remain at the Stadio Olimpico. He will be officially unveiled by the Sicilian club at a press conference tomorrow afternoon.
Catania ended the season in 13th place, ten points clear of the relegation zone having lost just two of their last ten league games.
