Wes Brown looks set to be at the centre of a bidding war between Bolton and Sunderland.
Defender Brown, 31, is out of favour at Manchester United after a bust-up with Alex Ferguson and is certain to be on his way this summer.Bolton sees him as an ideal replacement for £17million Arsenal target Gary Cahill, 25.
And the Black Cats are planning a £12m double-swoop for Brown and fellow United fringe player, midfielder Darron Gibson.
Sunderland chief Steve Bruce reckons he can persuade his old United boss Fergie to sell the pair.
But Ferguson is a big admirer of Bruce's highly-rated England Under-21 midfielder Jordan Henderson, 20 and could offer the pair in part exchange for the £15m-rated star.
