Falcao keen on Chelsea FC move as Blues set to appoint Andre Villas Boas

Porto striker Radamel Falcao is interested in following Andre Villas Boas to Chelsea, his agent has revealed

Villas-Boas quit his role as Porto coach on Tuesday and is expected to succeed Carlo Ancelotti as Chelsea manager this week .

Reports emerged on Monday that Columbia international Falcao could follow his manager to west London if the 33-year-old was installed as Chelsea boss.

The 25-year-old has been linked with a move to the Premier League for some time, with Arsenal and Tottenham both believed to be keen on signing him, and Falcao recently admitting he would like to play in England.

And according to his agent, reports that Falcao could be on his way to Chelsea may not be too wide of the mark.

Claudio Mossio told Goal.com: "If Chelsea's new coach is Villas-Boas, then it's normal that the players closest to him could follow him.

"But at the moment I have not heard from anyone from Chelsea, although the player would like such a destination."

He continued: "There are many good strikers at Chelsea, and so Falcao would have to fight for his place."

Fighting for his place could be made easier in the coming weeks as speculation continues that Didier Drogba will be sold this summer regardless of who is in charge at Stamford Bridge.

But although Villas-Boas could be appointed as Chelsea manager before the end of the week, Falcao's possible arrival at the club could still be weeks away.

"The player is preparing for the Copa America and is tranquil. He knows how things work in football," added Mossio.

"After such a great season, he's on everyone's lips."

The Copa America gets underway in Argentina on July 1st.
