Italy will host Spain in an international friendly at the start of next season, the Italian federation has confirmed.
Spain, the reigning world and European champions, will face the 2006 FIFA World Cup™ winners in Bari on 10 August.
A statement on the Italian federation's official website read: "The friendly match between the national team coached by Cesare Prandelli and world champions Spain will be played in Bari, at the San Nicola stadium on Wednesday 10 August.
"The decision was made by the FIGC president Giancarlo Abete after talks with the Bari president, Vincenzo Matarrese."
The last meeting between the sides came in the UEFA EURO 2008 quarter-finals, when Spain beat Italy on penalties in Vienna en route to winning the title.
