Marseille president Jean-Claude Dassier remains convinced Didier Deschamps will still be at the French club's helm next season despite speculation linking him with the job of Roma coach.
Deschamps has been tight-lipped on the subject of his future over the past few weeks but Dassier is keen to keep the former France midfielder and is confident he will stay.
"Didier is the one to ask," he told the club's website. "He plays around with reporters, but for me there is no shadow of a doubt - he will be the coach of Olympique Marseille next season.
"I think the rumours in the press have become a bit of a campaign to destabilise. This was not innocent."
He added: "Didier loves OM and the city, but is also a great professional. I remain convinced that he will be with us, and we will confirm in the next few days.
"I think it's more a form of appeal on his part. Maybe he wants to be told we love him... Well I say, 'Didier, yes, we love you, and we would like you to stay!'"
Roma are expected to replace Vincenzo Montella this summer, with Deschamps among the names linked with the role.
Carlo Ancelotti is also believed to be in the running after being sacked by Chelsea, while Barcelona B team coach Luis Enrique yesterday confirmed he has spoken to the Eternal City club about their managerial position.
