Novara and Padova will face off for a place in Serie A after emerging from close-fought play-off semi-finals on Sunday.
Novara drew 2-2 with Reggina and therefore advanced courtesy of their superior league position. Following a goalless first leg, Novara snatched the lead thanks to a Daniel Adejo own goal.
A goal in either half from one-time Italy cap Emiliano Bonazzoli put Reggina in charge. But Marco Rigoni scored in the final minute for the hosts who, having finished third in the table, advanced to the final.
Padova beat Varese 4-3 on aggregate after a 3-3 draw, having to come from behind. Varese jumped into a 2-0 lead with goals in the 11th and 15th minutes from Eros Pisano and Neto Pereira.
But Stephan El Shaarawi got one back in the 20th minute and Elia Legati levelled two minutes into the second half. Giuseppe De Luca put Varese back in front in the 66th minute, but El Shaarawi's second 18 minutes from time settled the tie.
