Real Madrid CF deny making bid for Chelsea FC target Sergio Aguero

Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho has dismissed reports that he has made a bid for Atletico Madrid striker Sergio Aguero, who is a transfer target for Chelsea

The 23-year-old recently revealed wants to leave the Vicente Calderon this summer, with Chelsea and Manchester City also believed to be interested in the Argentina international.

Recent reports in Spain had suggested Los Blancos had made a move for the highly-rated striker, but Mourinho insists this is not the case.

"I have not asked for [Sergio] Aguero," he was quoted as saying by El Larguero.

"I will not be a hypocrite about it though; he is a fantastic player and I like him a lot.

"However, he is an Atletico Madrid player at the moment.

"Real Madrid do not approach players before agreeing terms with their club."

Atletico chief executive Miguel Angel Gil Marin recently revealed that Juventus had made contact regarding Aguero but had not made a bid.

Mourinho's comments come just days after Marin confirmed he had spoken about the striker during a telephone conversation with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez, with the 64-year-old stating that the club were not preparing a bid for the former Independiente player.
