Manchester City are reportedly in advanced talks over a £35million move for Atletico Madrid striker Sergio Aguero.
The
23-year-old has been linked with a number of clubs in recent weeks,
with Real Madrid, Juventus and Chelsea all keen on the Argentina
international, who is currently away at the Copa America.
But according to The Sun,
City are in talks with Aguero's representatives over a £35m move to
Eastlands as manager Roberto Mancini looks to replace wantaway captain
Carlos Tevez, who is also in Argentina for the Copa.
Tevez wants to quit Eastlands and will get his wish providing a club is prepared to pay £50million for him.
With
Mancini preparing for City's first Champions League campaign, he is
keen to sign a striker as soon as possible, with Barcelona striker David
Villa also linked with a move to the club on Thursday (see below).
City
have this week already signed Gael Clichy from Arsenal and Partizan
Belgrade's Stefan Savic for a combined £14m, while Arsenal midfielder
Samir Nasri remains on his list of transfer targets.
