Bassong to stay at Spurs

Sebastien Bassong says he is happy at Tottenham Hotspur despite the fierce competition for places in defence.

Bassong was a regular member of the Spurs back four during the early part of the season but Harry Redknapp has preferred Michael Dawson alongside William Gallas since the England centre-back's return from injury.

Younes Kaboul has also been pushing for a spot and reports suggested Bassong could be set to leave White Hart Lane.
Your Head
He did little to quash talk of a switch to Paris St Germain before Christmas, saying he had always been a supporter of the French capital club.
However, Bassong maintains that he will be staying with Tottenham as he is excited about the challenges ahead.
"I will stay at Tottenham. I am one of the Spurs," he said. "When we see our forthcoming (games) with the Premier League and Champions League, it's motivating.
"I have had approaches from other clubs but this is outdated now. It is the past.
"When you play little, you ask yourself questions, ideas go through your head, but here everything is clear."
