The Gunners kept within five points of Barclays Premier League leaders Manchester United with a hard-fought victory at the Emirates Stadium, writes Stewart Coggin.
Louis Saha gave the Toffees a half-time lead with an excellent low finish but two goals in the space of five second-half minutes from Andrey Arshavin and Laurent Koscielny turned the match on its head.
The Gunners were not at their best against the disciplined visitors but Wenger was delighted to see his team display a different side to their game.
Any Minute

"We lost balls down to the closing down of Everton and some technical mistakes. Today it was more a victory of a team with fantastic spirit and a never-say-die attitude than our usual game, but that is needed too in a competition like that.
"We were not sharp until Everton scored. In the second-half I think it was all us. You felt that we could score at any minute and win the game."
Wenger revealed that Alex Song, who went off injured at half-time, "could not walk" after a kick from team-mate Koscielny, while Theo Walcott picked up an ankle injury late on. Those players will be assessed on Wednesday, but Wenger confirmed that Samir Nasri will be out for around three weeks after picking up a hamstring injury in the 2-1 FA Cup win over Huddersfield.
Nobody Else
David Moyes was left to rue his side's defending as Koscielny was allowed to head in the winner unmarked at a corner."We gave it away by our defending at a set-piece so we have nobody else to blame but ourselves," he accepted.
Moyes, who admitted that Saha's goal was offside, revealed he attempted to bring in players on loan prior to the transfer deadline, but was unsuccessful.
"We tried to get a couple of loan signings, but to get people in on loan who are better than what we had out tonight is not an easy thing to do," he said.
"Plenty of managers in the country don't have much money to work with and it's no different for me.
"My job is to get the best out of the players and tonight they did a great job for Everton. They played really well and except for the set-piece I think they did a really good job."
