Birmingham City 2-1 Bolton Wanderers

Birmingham City climbed out of the relegation zone with a hard-fought win over Bolton Wanderers.

Veteran striker Kevin Phillips made the most of being handed his first Barclays Premier League start of the season by opening the scoring in the fourth minute.
The 37-year-old met Sebastian Larsson's corner and rifled in an effort that Jussi Jaaskelainen could not stop.
Craig Gardner gave the home side breathing space on 59 minutes playing a delightful one-two with Cameron Jerome before slamming the ball beyond Jaaskelainen and in off the post.
The visitors pulled one back 11 minutes later when Kevin Davies chested the ball down for Johan Elmander, who leapt to connect with it and power into the net.
