Substitute player Ali Ashfaq’s two goals in the second half help VB Sports to beat the lowly Vyansa by 4-0 in the ongoing Dhiraagu Dhivehi League. Ashad Ali and Shamveel Qasim were also on the score sheet. Defending champions, VB started the match with a surprised change, keeping the top scorer, Ali Ashfaq on the bench. On the other hand Vyansa started the game with inexperienced players due to the suspension of their key players.
VB started the match really well but the first attempt on target comes from Vyanasa.
In the 4th minute of the game Solah’s long-range shot on target was well saved by keeper Habeeb.
During the 32nd minute of the game VB got a good chance to break the deadlock. Adam Lareef got the rebounded ball from Shmaveel’s free kick inside the box but his shot goes over the bar.
Four minutes later Adam Lareef supplied a descent ball into the danger zone but Ashad Ali’s header goes over the bar.
VB was curious to score a goal and Coach; Vanli introduced Ismail Mohamed instead of Adam Lareef in the 36th minute of the game to increase the tempo of the game.
VB started the second half with a change to their midfield. Vanli introduced Cengiz Huseyin for Ismail Easa.
In the 49th minute of the game Ashad Ali break the deadlock from a superb shot inside the box. Adam Fazeeh’s shot on target hits the cross bar and Ashad Ali beat the keeper from the rebounded ball.
Two minutes later VB got a great chance to increase the margin. Ashad Ali gives a good ball to Ismail Mohamed but his shot goes wide.
After the introduction of Ashfaq in the 56th minute of the game Vyansa changed their game completely to a defensive style and they got some trouble to stop him.
In the 64th minute of the game Ashfaq missed a great change to score but keeper saved it for a corner kick.
Ten minutes later Shamveel Gasim increased the margin with a superb header from Ashad Ali’s cross.
Five minutes later Ashfaq scored his 13th goal of the season from a superb solo effort in the box. He penetrated the defense line and hits on the top right corner of the goal.
Two minutes later Ashfaq’s thunderbolt shot change the score to 4-0. This time too Ashad gives a good ball to Ashfaq and keeper Osei fail to control his left foot shot.
After the match Vyansa coach Naaz said that he was not happy with the result but was happy with the performance.
“I am not happy with the result but the performance was good. We played this game without some important players and the opposition was one of the best team in the country.”
“During the first half we played quite well and when VB introduced their experienced players in the second half we lost the control totally.” Naaz added
On the other hand VB coach Vanli said that he was very happy with the result.
“I am very happy with the result. Vyansa played very well specially in the first half but during the break I found the loop holes and said the players those things.”
“I can say Huseyin change the game and Ashfaq played really well when I introduced him.”
When asked about the man of the match award to Mohamed Arif he said he was one of the best players in the country.
“Bakaa was one of the best professional player in the country and I am really happy with his performance.”
