Blackpool announce summer changes

Blackpool have announced that 11 players are to be released from the newly-relegated club.

The Tangerines have also activated a clause in star midfielder Charlie Adam's contract which in theory gives him another 12 months at Bloomfield Road.
Adam was the subject of a number of bids in January and now Ian Holloway's side have been relegated from the Barclays Premier League it seems inevitable he will leave.
But having successfully fended off offers mid-season, Blackpool will hold out for the best price for Adam, and have taken out a 12-month option on the midfielder.

Paul Rachubka, Richard Kingson, Marlon Harewood and Rob Edwards, meanwhile, are among 11 players who will be released.
The changes come after a 4-2 defeat to Manchester United on the final day of the season condemned the Seasiders to life in the Championship.
And manager Ian Holloway confirmed the other names to depart the club include long-serving right-back Danny Coid, Malaury Martin, Jason Euell, David Carney, Andy Reid, Salaheddine Sbai and Ishmel Demontagnac.
New contracts for the club's forthcoming Championship season have been offered to Matt Gilks, defender Stephen Crainey, Players' Player of the Year David Vaughan and striker Brett Ormerod.
Along with Adam, those with options for a further 12 months are Keith Southern, Neal Eardley, Ian Evatt, Billy Clarke, Gary Taylor-Fletcher and Louis Almond. All players who were on loan at Bloomfield Road have returned to their parent clubs.
