Barca rival Spurs for hitman Rossi

Tottenham face stiff competition from Barcelona for the signature of Villarreal striker Giuseppe Rossi.

The Italian hitman was in fine form last season, scoring 18 goals in 36 league games as the Yellow Submarine finished fourth in La Liga.
And his strike ratio has attracted the interest of Spurs boss Harry Redknapp, who is looking to bolster his side's attacking options this summer.
However, Champions League winners Barca are also in the hunt and Rossi's agent, Federico Pastorello, admits discussions have already taken place with Pep Guardiola's team.
Pastorello said: "We've had contact with Barca and he is interested in playing for the most important club in the world.
"The market price for Rossi is between £22million and £26million and we're negotiating with Barcelona."
And Villarreal coach Juan Manuel Garrido is braced for the former Manchester United youngster to leave the club.
He admitted: "So many rumors must mean something.
"If Villarreal receives a good offer then it will be accepted and we'll thank the player for all of his efforts.
"Rossi has played a lot of games and has scored a lot of goals. We need to be prepared for any possible sale."
Rossi, 24, has scored 77 goals in total for Villarreal since leaving Old Trafford four years ago.
