Lambert wants 'hungry' signings

Paul Lambert maintains none of his summer transfer targets should expect to be in for an easy ride at Norwich City.

The Canaries manager - who oversaw successive promotions from League One - has wasted no time in beginning his recruitment drive, bringing in strikers James Vaughan and Steve Morison.
Leeds United midfielder Bradley Johnson is another said to be on the verge of a switch to Carrow Road, along with Brighton winger Elliott Bennett.
However, Lambert warned anyone who thinks they can get away without putting a shift in at the Norfolk club will be set for a rude awakening.

"I don't want people coming here thinking it is little old Norwich and it is a lovely place to live, great area - that is not what I am looking for. You want people here who want to achieve something," Lambert said.
"Players that are hungry don't need to be 21 or 22. You can get a lad of 30 who is hungry, a lad at 31 who is hungry, and who wants to do well.
"If I think it is right then I will look at them - if you get experienced lads who want to keep doing well."
Lambert added: "You can take Roy Keane for instance. No matter if Roy Keane was on X amount of money when he started out or what he was on at Manchester United, you would still get the same performances. He was an absolute top, top pro - that is the difference."
