On Thursday it emerged that the France international had become United's top transfer target as they look to replace Paul Scholes in midfield.
And according to the Daily Mirror on Friday, United are preparing a £10m bid for the 23-year-old, with the Premier League champions outlining their interest in Nasri to a third party.
According to the report, Nasri's agent, Jean-Pierre Bernes, has not been involved in any preliminary talks.
Arsenal are set to sell the former Marseille midfielder unless he agrees a new contract in the coming weeks. Nasri has twelve months left on his existing deal and has been offered a new deal worth £90,000-a-week.
But the Frenchman is seemingly reluctant to enter into contract talks until he is satisfied with Arsenal's spending and plans for over the summer as he looks for manager Arsene Wenger to spend big in the transfer market.
United could still make moves for Inter Milan midfielder Wesley Sneijder or Tottenham playmaker Luka Modric should their attempts to lure Nasri away from north London fail.
But Wenger will almost certainly do everything he can to prevent one of his best players moving to Old Trafford.
