Sunderland FC to make bids for Man Utd trio Brown, O'Shea and Gibson?

Sunderland are reportedly looking to spend the cash raised from the sale of Jordan Henderson by making bids for Manchester United trio Wes Brown, John O'Shea and Darron Gibson

Sunderland are set to see their bank balance boosted by around £20million with the sale of midfielder Henderson to Liverpool, with the deal expected to be completed in the next day or two.

Reports on Wednesday morning suggested the Black Cats were preparing to use the funds to line up bids for Brown and Gibson.

But according to Sky Sports, Sunderland are also keen on 30-year-old John O'Shea and have lodged a bid of around £12million for the United trio.

On Wednesday evening it was reported that the Premier League champions were willing to let all three move to Wearside as Sir Alex Ferguson prepares for a busy summer of his own in the transfer market.

All three players are now expected to decide whether they want to make the move to the Stadium of Light.

Should they opt to move north, they will likely be joined by Liverpool striker David N'Gog, who is set to join Steve Bruce's side as part of the deal that will take England international Henderson to Anfield.
