Chelsea FC keen on signing Michel Bastos from Lyon - report

Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Lyon winger Michel Bastos.

Liverpool and Tottenham have both shown interest in the 27-year-old in recent months, with reports earlier this year claiming Spurs had seen the Brazil international as a possible replacement for Gareth Bale if he was to leave the club.

A move to Juventus recently fell through for the former Lille midfielder, and according to the Daily Mirror citing reports in France, new Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas is interested in taking him to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea are reportedly ready to meet Bastos' £12million asking price in a deal which could lead to Yuri Zhirkov leaving the Blues this summer.

Manchester United have previously shown interest in Bastos, as had Real Madrid prior to the Spanish giants turning their attention to Fabio Coentrao.
