Milan Jovanovic to leave Liverpool FC as Olympiakos interested in Anfield flop

Liverpool have told midfielder Milan Jovanovic that he is surplus to requirements and is free to find a new club

The 30-year-old moved to Merseyside last summer on a free transfer from Standard Liege but failed to settle at Anfield and has made just ten appearances for the Reds.

The Serbia international was linked with a move to Inter Milan during the January transfer window, while Bundesliga sides Wolfsburg and Schalke were also believed to be interested.

But Greek giants Olympiakos are said to be leading the chase for Jovanovic, who has confirmed he will be on the move.

"I got the paper from Liverpool that I am free to search for a new club," he told reporters in Greece.

"Up to now, I still haven't received an official offer from Olympiakos, but I am looking forward to hearing their plans."
