Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas is reportedly ready to make a bid for Birmingham defender Scott Dann.The 24-year-old has also been linked with a move to Arsenal in recent weeks, while Liverpool have shown interest in the centre-back throughout the year.
Although he is keen on signing Real Madrid defender Pepe (see below), 'AVB' is also keen on signing a British centre-back and according to The Sun, Dann is on his radar as well as Bolton's Gary Cahill.
And the Portuguese boss will reportedly make a detailed assessment of former England Under-21 international Dann by studying videos of ten Birmingham City games.
Dann, who missed the last four months of last season through injury, is unlikely to be the subject of a bid from the Gunners until they can be confident that he is fully fit again.
Aston Villa and Blackburn are also believed to be keen on the centre-back, who was close to joining Stoke City last month.
But recent reports have suggested the former Liverpool season ticket holder has been keen on joining Kenny Dalglish's side at Anfield.
