Sergio Aguero and Samuel Eto'o wanted by Manchester City - report

Manchester City are reportedly ready to replace Carlos Tevez by signing Inter Milan striker Samuel Eto'o and Atletico Madrid's Sergio Aguero in deals worth £55million.

Tevez last week confirmed he wants to quit Eastlands this summer and City will allow their captain to leave providing their £50m valuation is met.

City boss Roberto Mancini has been linked with a number of strikers over the past few weeks, with reports last week suggesting a £35m deal for Aguero was on the cards.

But according to the Daily Mail, Mancini is lining up bids for Aguero AND Eto'o.

The Cameroon international, who has also been linked with a move to Chelsea recently, is under contract at the San Siro until 2014 and although it is possible that Inter will let him leave Milan this summer, a move would be unlikely until new coach Gian Piero Gasperini has had time to work out his plans for next season and look for a suitable replacement.

However, City last month held talks with Inter possible swap involving Tevez, and Eto'o is believed to be interested in joining the club.

Last month, the former Barcelona forward had said: "It is true that I have a few offers, I have a month off now to evaluate all of them and decide what to do.

"I’m 30, I’m close to my final big contract and we’ll have to see whether I should stay or go.

"My eventual departure is not to try to earn €100,000 or €200,000 more. What matters in my career is being happy in a city, playing for a big club where I can enjoy myself."

Reports last week suggested City were in advanced talks over a move for Aguero, who has been linked with a number of clubs in recent weeks, including Real Madrid, Juventus and Chelsea.

City have this week already signed Gael Clichy from Arsenal and Partizan Belgrade's Stefan Savic for a combined £14m, while Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri remains on Mancini's list of transfer targets.
