Bojan Krkic set to complete AS Roma move

Roma have announced that Barcelona forward Bojan Krkic, who has been linked with Liverpool and Tottenham, is close to joining the Serie A side.

Krkic has been linked with Roma for several weeks following the recent appointment of former Barcelona B coach Luis Enrique as the club's new manager.

The 20-year-old has been linked with a move to Liverpool throughout the year, while Tottenham as recently as this past weekend were believed to be considering a bid for the Spain Under-21 international.

But according to Roma's sporting director Walter Sabatini, a move to Italy could be completed in the next 24 hours.

"The agreement with the player is total," Sabatini told ONA FM. "There are some things to clear with Barcelona.

"It could all be done on Monday or Tuesday, I am very optimistic."

Krkic last month rejected the chance to join another Serie A side, Udinese, as part of a potential deal that would have taken Alexis Sanchez to Camp Nou.

The striker is expected to cost Roma around £8million.
