The Argentine striker hobbled off at Anfield a minute after Andy Carroll had opened the scoring for the home side as fears mount that he could now be out of Saturday's Wembley tie
A minute after Andy Carroll had put Liverpool ahead with his first goal for the club Tevez looked in pain as he limped in the centre circle at Anfield.
The Argentine proceded to pass the captain’s armband to Vincent Kompany and signalled to Roberto Mancini to be substituted.
Mancini, and all City fans, will be hoping that their star man's withdrawal is just a precaution with the crunch game against United at Wembley coming up this weekend.
According to Sky Sports, however, Tevez appeared to confirm that he felt the injury was a bad one which could signal the end of the former West Ham man's season.
