Holden determined to get back to his best

Bolton Wanderers' Stuart Holden has vowed to push himself in an attempt to be fit for the start of next season.

The midfielder's promising campaign came to a shuddering halt in March when he suffered a serious knee injury following a challenge by Manchester United defender Jonny Evans.
However, such was the United States international's good form - and the esteem he is held in at the Reebok Stadium - the 25-year-old was named the club's player of the year.
Holden said: "I have a positive mindset but at the same time it is tough on you. There are moments when you're thinking 'here we go again'.
"It was nice to see my family, relax and see some old friends. Now I have come back with a clear head and I will be here over the summer working twice a day trying to do everything I can to be fit for the start of next season.
"I know what it takes to get through an injury as I have been there before. I have that mentality and once I have recovered I will make sure I continue the form I showed before the injury."
