Dutch midfielder Urby Emanuelson has no intention of leaving AC Milan this summer.
The 24-year-old joined Milan from Ajax in January but has seen limited playing time, making just nine league appearances for the Italian champions.
"Why would I leave Milan?" Emanuelson said to Gazzetta dello Sport. "I am not the type of player to leave after only six months.
"I want to be part of the team at the start of this new cycle and want to pay back the club for the faith they have shown in me."
Emanuelson hopes to prove his worth next season and convince AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri of his potential.
"I am confident that I have what it takes to become an important player at Milan," he said.
"You learn a lot tactically and physically in Italy. I just have to be patient and continue developing."
