Liverpool will reportedly have to pay £9million if they are to finally sign Blackpool captain Charlie Adam
The two clubs have been holding talks over the past few days as the Merseysiders look to finally land the 25-year-old midfielder after missing out on him during the January transfer window.
Adam has already told the Tangerines that he wants to remain in the Premier League next season and the club accept that he will be on the move this summer following their relegation to the Championship.
But according to the Daily Mirror, the Scotland international will only get his move to Anfield if the Reds meet the asking price.
Aston Villa and Tottenham were both keen on Adam back in January, but their interest appears to have cooled, ending any hopes Blackpool had of sparking a bidding war.
Reports earlier this week suggested Liverpool were trying to negotiate a cash-plus-player deal that could see midfielder Jonjo Shelvey and young right-back Stephen Darby move to Bloomfield Road.
