Bayern Munich today signed striker Nils Petersen from Energie Cottbus. The 22-year-old, capped up to U-21 level by Germany, has signed a three-year contract with the record German champions.
Petersen was the top scorer in the 2.Bundesliga this season with 25 goals as Cottbus finished sixth and the young striker was delighted to receive the chance to play for Bayern. He told www.fcbayern.de: "If you get an offer from Bayern Munich, then you must accept it - that goes without saying.
"From the first second I was set on going this way. It makes me proud that Bayern Munich is my new employer. This is something unique. I am really looking forward to the task."
Petersen constitutes Bayern's first signing ahead of next season, which will be Jupp Heynckes' first in his third spell in charge of the club.
