Cameroon striker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting has said that he is convinced he has made the right move after sealing a switch to Mainz.
The 22-year-old signed a three-year contract as he completed a free transfer from Hamburg yesterday.
"I'm binding myself to a longer contract at a club, so I've thought a lot about this step," he told the club website. "I am definitely convinced that I made the right decision.
"I have been watching the development of the team very closely. Talks with coach Thomas Tuchel and manager Christian Heidel were very positive. I have a feeling that I will get on very well at the club and the in city."
Choupo-Moting will get the chance to play in the UEFA Europa League next season after Mainz finished fifth in the Bundesliga.
