Everton FC want Arsenal FC and Liverpool FC target Sergio Canales - report

Everton are preparing to make a fresh bid to sign Real Madrid midfielder Sergio Canales, who has been linked with a move to Arsenal or Liverpool

According to the Daily Mirror, Everton manager David Moyes is keen on signing the 20-year-old, who the Spanish giants are willing to let leave the Bernabeu on loan.

Reports in Spain last month suggested Villarreal were favourites to sign the youngster this summer, despite interest from Arsenal and Liverpool.

But The Yellow Submarine were looking to sign the former Racing Santander playmaker in an £8.5million deal and according to Monday's report, the Bernabeu hierarchy do not want to lose the highly-rated player permanently.

Liverpool were reportedly hoping to sign Canales for less than £5m should the club have been prepared to sell him.

Real boss Jose Mourinho is ready to let Canales leave the club on loan and after failing with an initial bid, Toffees boss Moyes is set to make a second attempt to lure him to Goodison Park.

Bundesliga club Wolfsburg are also believed to be interested in the Spain Under-20 international.

Last month, Canales was quoted as saying: "During January I had options to move to England, but I want to repay Mourinho and the club's trust in me.

"I don't regret moving to Real Madrid and I knew that this first year would be tough.

"It's not great when I'm not in the squad but I want to show what I can do on the pitch."
