Barcelona are reportedly set to make a fresh bid to sign Cesc Fabregas - with the Arsenal captain due in the city on holiday this week
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger earlier this week again insisted that his skipper was not for sale, stating that the 24-year-old would stay with Arsenal "for a long time."
But it is widely thought that the Spanish champions will get their top transfer target this summer, with the Daily Mirror reporting that a fresh bid is set to be made after the Catalans convinced themselves that the Gunners will finally agree to do business.
Fabregas is due in Spain on Wednesday as he flies to Madrid for the launch of a new fragrance by fashion designer Angel Schlesser.
And sources at Camp Nou are preparing to sound Fabregas out when he leaves Madrid for Barcelona to spend some time in the city on holiday, with the European champions seemingly confident of the transfer going through before the start of next season.
Barca value Fabregas at £35million but are aware that Arsenal want £50m for the Spain internationl.
But Pep Guardiola is believed to be ready to offer the Premier League club a choice of players from their youth ranks in a bid to push a deal through.
According to Tuesday's report, Barca are keen for the player to go public and state his desire to go back to his boyhood club, while reports elsewhere have suggested that a frustrated Fabregas is ready to do just that.
Should that happen, then Wenger will almost certainly be forced to concede defeat and allow him to leave the club, although Arsenal will hold out for their valuation to be met.
